This recipe is inspired by a popular American camp fire treat known as s’mores. I don’t see the reason why we need to go to a camp to enjoy it. I believe in treating yourself whenever you feel like it, so I created this adult version of the dessert which can be made ahead of time and served at a party too.  Your guests would keep coming back for more!

Ingredients

For the crust

  • 10 ounces graham cracker crumbs
  • 4 tablespoon butter

For the filling

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 10 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature

For the topping

  • 14 ounces marshmallow crème

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350F. Spray a 10 inch tart shell with baking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave safe dish & mix with the graham cracker crumbs. Using your hands, spread the mix onto the tart shell coating the sides and the bottom till it’s evenly spread. Bake in the over for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  3. Heat the heavy cream and milk in a pot over medium-low flame, until it simmers slightly around the edges. Remove from the heat; add the chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smoothed out. Add the sugar and salt and whisk until well incorporated. Beat the eggs in a small bowl until blended and add them to the chocolate mixture, stir until completely blended. Pour the filling into the cooled tart shell and bake at 32 F for 15 to 20 minutes until the filling is set and the surface is glossy. Let cool overnight in refrigerator.
  4. Heat oven to high broil. Spread the marshmallow crème evenly over the chocolate tart. Place in oven on high broil for 5 minutes or until the marshmallow browns and begins to toast. Do not leave the tart unattended as it begins to burn very quickly. Remove from oven and let cool completely before serving.
