  • Active: 10min
  • Total time: 20min
  • Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped

Directions

  1. Preheat a grill to medium heat and preheat an oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Brush the apple slices with the vegetable oil. Lay the apples on the hot grill, and turn the slices over after achieving golden grill marks. Transfer the apple pieces to a baking dish.
  3. Melt the butter, brown sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a pan over medium heat, stirring until the brown sugar has dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat. Pour the glaze over the apples and bake until the slices have softened, approximately 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, sprinkle the sugar and remaining cinnamon over the whipped cream. Gently fold the cream to combine the flavors.
  5. Arrange the grilled apples on a dessert plate and dress them with a dollop of the spiced whipped cream.
