Rosé Piscine: A French Wine Served Over Ice

If you are like many of us who like to entertain all year long, you don’t need a reason or a season to throw a great party.  You have recipes on rotation with new ones to be added into the mix as well as your favorite go-to cocktails and wine selections.

But as any true wine lover knows, you’re always on the lookout for something new to introduce your friends to that makes you a rock star.  Something that works for different palettes. You know, the red AND the white wine drinkers.  It goes with the mood, the theme and of course the season.  One suggestion on our list, Rosé Piscine.

With rosés having a moment in the industry right now, this is one to definitely try.  Made from the indigenous varietal from southwest France called the négrette, Rosé Piscine is a French rosé that is created to be enjoyed over ice.  This dark and tough-skinned grape with aromatic qualities produces a beautiful pale salmon color offering that on the Urban Grape’s Progressive Scale, is a light to medium-bodied wine. Take one whiff and enjoy a bouquet of white flowers on the nose.  One taste may reveal notes of vanilla with the boldness of stone fruit such as peach and nectarine.

If you have an affinity for French wines, this one won’t disappoint.  With more than two million bottles already sold in Brazil and France last year, Rosé Piscine is on the U.S. radar to be a hit.  “What you serve to drink is going to be a key element of ensuring your guests have a great time,” explains Ken Lang, managing partner at Rosé Piscine.  “Having the right wine at your event will give people something to talk about, help them get comfortable chatting, and will leave a good impression on them overall.”

Circling back to the one reason we really love about this wine is the fact that you can enjoy it over ice without worrying about diluting the taste.  This is contrary to what we say in our article, “ 6 Tips for Serving and Storing Wine.” In fact, Rosé Piscine’s founder Jacques Tranier set out to create a wine that you can do just this after seeing women in Saint Tropez drink rosé on the rocks and experiencing it himself while on vacation more than 10 years ago.  His disappointment with the taste led to this unique and refreshing wine that is now available in the U.S. and retails for just $18.99.   We're big fans of a nice chilled glass of wine on a hot summer day, so if you see a little ice in our glass after reading this, you'll know exactly what we are drinking.

In addition, add Rosé Piscine to your favorite sangria recipe and get ready for repeat requests to start coming in.  Look for one from us soon.

Although perfect for birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, bridal showers, friends and family gatherings and more, we really don’t need a reason to enjoy Rosé Piscine and you won’t either.
