The Next Best Thing in Chocolate – OCHO

If you are a chocolate lover, most likely you are always on the hunt for the next best thing.  If so, I think I have something for you. Oakland-based chocolate maker OCHO Candy set out to make a candy bar that is organic and delicious and nailed it.

OCHO, which stands for Organic CHOcolate, knows how to speak to your taste buds with eight delicious flavors to include: Caramel, Caramel & Peanut, Coconut, Dark Caramel, Dark Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter, PB & J and Peppermint.  Available as either a candy bar or pack of minis, get ready to taste real organic butter and cane sugar and other natural ingredients that deliciously coupled with either organic milk or dark chocolate.

I had a chance to taste all of them and by far, my two favorites have to be the PB & J and Peppermint.  Creamy peanut butter is topped by a raspberry filling and then surrounded by milk chocolate. For the peppermint, a cool crème filling oozes out of dark chocolate for a refreshing treat. If you love coconut, definitely give this bar a try.  I took one bar and shaved it down as a garnish over some ice cream.  The chocolate/coconut shavings were the perfect addition.

When you don’t want a full bar, the minis are great to carry around for an impromptu sugar attack during the day, to have in the car to get you through an evening commute or to share during a weekend movie.

During the springtime, give your kids’ Easter baskets (or your own) a little chocolate upgrade by adding OCHO’s Peanut Butter Eggs or Caramel Eggs.  The raving 5-star reviews online from parents tell us that the Easter bunny may need to make a lot more for this year.  Check back on the site soon to see when these seasonal goodies will be available.

Give in to your chocolate cravings with candy that is taking both the process and flavors to the next level.  Stop by your local Target, Safeway, Meijer, ACME and Shoprite to purchase. Of course you can also satisfy your sweet tooth by ordering online at www.ochocandy.com.
