Located in Southeastern Europe, Greece is a wonderful country nestled among thousands of islands in the Ionian and Aegean seas. Many people who visit Greece will tell you that it’s unlike any other country and there’s nonstop beauty in every place you look. Due to all the options, planning a trip to Greece can easily become overwhelming. That is why, if you’re planning on traveling to Greece, there are some things you need to know.

You Can Visit the Ruins

It’s no secret that Greece is rich with historic, ancient ruins that tell you so much about its past. In fact, Greece takes considerable action to keep its archeological sites as managed, preserved, and protected as possible. Greece’s historic sites are a wonder to behold, and the entirety of Greece has history in every place you look. That’s why you must take the time to visit historic sites like the Acropolis of Athens. Make sure also to check out Mycenae, an ancient archaeological site of classical Greece.

Closing Times Vary

While there are so many different foods you need to try when in Greece, there’s something to keep in mind about closing times. The closing time of restaurants in Greece won’t always be as accurate as the times say. As such, you should expect restaurants and stores to open a little later than expected. Moreover, it’s helpful to know that most businesses will likely not open on Sundays and usually close early on Mondays and Wednesdays.
