Discovering new wines that complement my excitement of summer as well as my mellow moods in the fall and winter is always at the top of my mind as a wine lover. Personally, I tend to stay lighter during the day with some of my favorite whites such as a crisp viognier or albariño and go a little heavier in the evening with a sangiovese or even zinfandel. However, no matter what time of day or night, give me bubbles and I am a very happy girl.
The new Clos du Bois Lightly Bubbled Chardonnay and Lightly Bubbled Rosé delivers the sophistication of stilled wine with a hint of bubbles. Crafted in the heart of Sonoma wine country, the new additions add a little pop to your glass, making any gathering or occasion special.
The chardonnay offers a unique and refreshing taste with notes of apple, pear and crisp citrus. As rosés have become the wine of the moment, the new lightly bubbled offering marks the winery’s first foray into rosé with a flavorful blend of juicy strawberry, apricot and cranberry notes. My glass of the chardonnay paired with a dish as simple as herbed roasted chicken and potatoes brought my day to an end quite nicely. Lately, I love to enjoy my desserts with a glass of wine that is not too light or too hearty, so I paired this rosé with a chocolate brownie drizzled with raspberry sauce and oh was it good. You can’t go wrong with chocolate. I would do that pairing again for sure.
Perfectly priced, each bottle is only $12.99 and available in stores nationwide where wine is sold. Both are definitely on my year-round list for entertaining or for those “just because” moments. Looking to try something new, trust me on this one because both are winners. I would even go as far as to suggest them to those who like to stay a little on the sweet side. Both are light and refreshing on the palate and will surprise even the most reluctant sweet wine drinker.
