You need different types of oils in recipes. However, there are types you should always have. Read this list of essential types of oils you need in your kitchen.

Whether you’re a home chef or professional, you need to have different types of oils on hand. They’re great for making different recipes, and they can make your dish delicious. Check out our list of the essential types of oils you need in your kitchen for great suggestions.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is one of the most common cooking oils. You can pan-fry and sauté meats and vegetables. You can also make salad dressing using olive oil. It has a high smoke point, making it versatile in many recipes. It’s essential to keep in your kitchen because you may find yourself needing olive oil in many of your favorite dishes.

Sesame Seed Oil

Sesame seed oil is interesting. It has a nutty aroma, and you will find it in cold noodle dishes or sautéed meat and vegetables. This oil also has antioxidants and vitamins. However, it’s essential to understand that sesame seed oil has a strong flavor, so a little goes a long way. You can cook Asian cuisine or coat different noodle recipes in this oil for a yummy experience.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is another great oil to have on hand. It’s perfect for baking, sauteing, and low-heat roasting. According to Healthline, coconut oil is rich in a fatty acid called lauric acid, which improves cholesterol. In addition, coconut oil is a solid at room temperature, and you can use it as a butter substitute in cookies, cakes, and other dessert recipes. At other times, you can sauté vegetables and chicken for a delicious meal.

Vegetable Oil

Vegetable oil is great for frying and deep-frying foods. It’s one of the cheapest cooking oils; therefore, it’s something you can keep on hand. One of the best things about vegetable oil is that it doesn’t affect the taste of your food. So after frying a dish, you will not taste the excess oil. The best foods to fry in vegetable oil are fried chicken, French fries and churros.

Cutting Board Oil

If you use a wooden cutting board or utensils, then cutting board oil is vital in your kitchen. It keeps your wood soft and supple for cooking purposes. Unfortunately, a dry cutting board can crack, and bacteria from food will infiltrate the board, resulting in contamination. Luckily, you can maintain your cutting boards and wooden utensils by creating cutting board oil.

Every cook understands they need different types of oils on hand. They make your recipes delicious, and sometimes they have nutritional value. We hope our list of the essential types of oils you need in your kitchen was helpful.
